ZEN

Zen is a hip word. It’s trendy. It has been for as long as I can remember, going back a half a century. Are there any words you know with that kind of staying power? If you have one, please let me know.

It’s a zen world with lots of zen folk having zen moments. It’s all very zen.

Zen is a word, a state of mind, an experience before thought, a practice, a teaching, a teacher, a school, a form of meditation; it is a form of reality immersion, a direct path to experience, the Now, a way of life / death, a beard, a bohdi tree, a story and a tradition.

But possibly, before all that, zen is a sound. I don’t believe we’ve tapped into the phenomena of sound in this world yet. Its cause and effect and its impact on mind and spirit. More will be revealed to be sure.
